Wipe away those tears, stow away your fears, Portia Sweet is here! Trained as both a contemporary dancer and physical theatre artist, Portia works to fuse both striptease and performance art. Coming in at a whopping five feet of pure peculiarity, it’ll be hard to forget Portia Sweet!

Biography

With a background in contemporary dance and physical theatre, Portia Sweet has kicked down the door to the Western Australian Burlesque scene. Weaving every one of their performances with a strong sense of storytelling, Portia seeks to shed light on the dark.

Having graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Diploma of Acting in 2019, Portia set their sights on Burlesque in 2021. They earned the title of The Apprentease WA Runner Up in 2023, before a jam packed Fringe season in 2024, which saw them flying to Adelaide for their first gig as an interstate headliner. Gaining a reputation for their theatrical approaches to character building, choreography and costuming, this tiny taskmaster challenges their audience with every bend and bump.
