Fan Dancing Workshop

with Sapphire Demure

3 - week course, 3  x 1 hour sessions over three weeks.
Fridays 7.00 - 8.00pm
Kings St Art Centre, Studio 1, 357 - 365 Murray St (Entrance from both Kings st and Murray St)

Course Description

If you have never picked up a pair of ostrich feather fans before or perhaps you have done previous workshops or have your own feather fans, this workshop is for you. Sapphire Demure will teach you some techniques and style involved in classic fan dancing such as classic poses with the fans, dancing and movement, the art of tease with the fans and popular flourishes.

By the end of the workshop, you will learn a group choreography with the feather fans. You will have the opportunity to perform the routine at the Fresh Faced Follies Grad show on Wednesday 11th April 2012. 


What to Wear

Easy to move in clothing, but not too loose as the fans may get caught in big flowing skirts and shirts, etc.  You may also be doing some floor work, so wear appropriate bottoms, as you legs may end up in the air. You can wear comfortable heels or flats. Please bring a bottle of water. 

Restrictions

 This course is for guys and girls, all ages welcome.

No experience whatsoever is needed, it's perfect for all ages, shapes and persuasions! All levels of skill can be catered to, whether you're a dancer/actor/performer or have never taken a dance class in your life!

$70 for the course (including GST)
