Workshop Description

An EXCLUSIVE Burlesque Workshop with the star and founder of West End Burlesque Cabaret hit ‘The Hurly Burly Show’, Miss Polly Rae.
In this 2 hour bump and grinding, shimmy-shaking workshop you will learn all the basic techniques of modern and classical burlesque including movement, dance, character/persona and striptease.

A chance to learn with one of the U.K’s biggest burlesque stars, Miss Polly Rae has over 8 years of experience in the business, 3 West End Shows and high international acclaim. She promises to share her wealth of knowledge and her most effective hints and tips to help you reveal or enhance your inner burlesque goddess!!!

What to Wear

Dress or Skirt/Top & heels you can dance in (recommended but not essential). Bring along a bottle of water.
Boas/Corsets/Feathers/Gloves etc all encouraged but not essential.

Students must be over the age of 18 yrs and restricted to women only.

We are going to bring you the best of the acts that have been featured in all the shows (inc Fly by night, fringe and big top tease shows) this year! Black Market Cabaret brings you entertainment from the dark corners of town. This a show that brings you a variety of burlesque and cabaret performers from Sugar Blue and the greater performing arts community.

Vintage Glamour Workshops

 

Full-day vintage style workshop and glamour photographic shoot, brought to you by Sugar Blue Burlesque and David Woolley Photography.

Sunday 2nd December workshop has a tikki bar pin-up theme. There will be a set, props and accessories to make you feel like a sexy vintage pin up. In this set, you can decide to dress up in vintage style pin up, such as vintage clothing or even vintage style bathers or even vintage style lingerie and pin up wear.  You will also get professional posing tips and advice from David Woolley, who guarantees that he can make every woman look like a Vintage pin up! 

Recommended clothing/accessories: Pin up clothing, such as vintage or vintage style dresses, lingerie or bathing suits.
Date: Sunday 2nd  December 2012
Address: This Workshop will be held at David Woolley's own studio in Carlisle. Address will be provided on booking.
Time: 9-5pm

What to Wear/Bring

A light lunch is provided. Bring along all your own cosmetics and hair products, false eyelashes, plus hot rollers if you own any. Some hair and makeup supplies will be provided. Also bring anything that you would like to be photographed in, especially clothing and lingerie in the vintage style, shoes and accessories like vintage hats, furs, jewellery, gloves, etc - this is relevant for the opulent/luxury themed sets. You will also have access to some accessories and props belonging to David Woolley and to Sugar Blue Burlesque.

$199 (including GST)

Included in the package is one free 8" x 12" (Valued at $100) print of your choice from your photo shoot, and you will be able to purchase further prints from David Woolley at a 50% discount. Prints are only  $30.00 for 6" x 4" ,  7 " x 5" are $40.00,  and 8" x 12" are $50.00 after the discount - that's amazing!

As this workshop is extremely popular and there are very limited places, payment is required before the workshop, to confirm your booking.

Clara Cupcakes is a lady who's good with her hands - be it baking a tray of her famous kitsch cupcakes or twirling a paper fan in her signature Japanese Geisha act. She's a knockout with those hips too - don't miss her astonishing hula hoop act! The Queen of Cute, Clara's mischievous smile is irresistible, not to mention those va-va-voom curves! Dancer, diva, retro glamour puss, Clara Cupcakes was born for burlesque.

Miss Gail Force was blown into existence with charm, grace and the ability to tear phone books in half. A trapeze artist, cabaret, performer and strong woman on the side. Gail Force is all about spectacle and above all a cheeky smile and a twinkle in her eye. She is also the director of Fliptease.
